Les Ombrées is a typical Arcachon villa from the first half of the 19th century, completely renovated and decorated to offer 4 charming guest rooms which rival those of a luxury hotel in Arcachon. Located away from the hustle and bustle of the summer city, in a residential area, the large garden shade brings calm and serenity. Located less than 200 meters from the beach, it can be considered as a seaside guesthouse or Bed and Breakfast . Moreover, one of the guest rooms has a balcony with a view of bird island in the Arcachon Bay.

Each one of our guest rooms is different and all have access to the outside via a balcony or terrace. They have been decorated with care, with family furniture or antiques so that our guests feel comfortable there, in an atmosphere that is cosy and warm.
We selected high quality bedding to offer our guests comfort throughout their stay. Our guests have access to a lounge with a large library and a courtesy tray to enjoy coffee, tea or herbal teas free of charge whenever they wish. It is in this room that we serve breakfast while we wait for the warm weather to take advantage of the sunny terrace.
At Les Ombrées, breakfast is a moment of exchanges and delicacies. We know how much the table d'hôte is important to our visitors. It is produced at home, by us, with mainly organic and local products: only the bread (hot and fresh) comes from Cédric, our wonderful baker. Cereals, yogurts, homemade brioche or cake, rice pudding and desserts, homemade fruit compote, fresh fruit salad, cheeses… every day a different menu! We can also adapt to the diet of our guests: gluten free, lactose free, vegan…
Table d'hôtes in Arcachon
If we don't offer a table d'hôtes, as many restaurants are within walking distance from the house. The specialty of the Bassin d'Arcachon is of course the oysters but the restaurants offer a varied cuisine, of quality for all tastes and all budgets.

In every season, the Bay of Arcachon offers a wide range of activities and walks for all ages.

The dune du Pyla or Dune du Pilat (for the locals) is one of the most incredible and most visited natural sites in the region. A large sand dune more than 2 km long and 115 m high which dominates the ocean facing the entrance to Arcachon Bay.
​
The Winter Town district with its period villas and lush gardens is also an essential place to stroll. Alone or accompanied by a guide, a visit is essential on foot, by bicycle or even on board the Arcachon's little train.

Arcachon and the Bassin d'Arcachon are a sportsman's paradise. Land side or ocean side, everything is possible. Lovers of nautical sports will be spoiled for choice: surf, paddle, sail, kayak, kite surfing, sailboard, water skiing are practiced on the Bassin d'Arcachon, the Lac Cazaux or at the ocean, depending on the winds. Land sports fans are not left out: 2 golf courses, many hiking trails in the forest or by the ocean, a vast network of cycle paths including the famous Velodyssey which deploys more than 42 km to criss-cross the region. And for the more daring, they can launch themselves into the air by paragliding from the Dune du Pilat or try skydiving from Villemarie aerodrome.

For those looking for a change of scenery, the Arcachon Bay Zoo is one of the largest zoological parks in France with more than 800 animals, 22 hectares of forest and 4 km of visits. Finally, the youngest can let off steam in one of the play parks in the Bassin d'Arcachon, the parc de la Coccinelle ou le Kid Parc.

Culture is not forgotten and the past of Arcachon remains very present, in particular through the buildings of the XIXth century, the Ville d’Hiver and downtown.

Several cultural events mark the year: a dance festival in September, la plage aux écrivains in April-May, The boat show in May, the traditional maritime festivals on August 14 and 15, a Cinesansfrontières film festival in February. The Olympia theater in Arcachon hosts numerous shows, plays and one-man shows each year, as well as a chamber music recital.
Arcachon and the Bassin d'Arcachon have rolled out a soft mobility policy and the region is very accessible. Plane by Bordeaux airport, train, bicycle… to each his own means of transport.
